Hi Lynne
Personally I am not aware that this is the case, my only concern about a vegan diet would be the calories. Our friend Jacqui cares for her brother who I understand is a vegan, perhaps she may have some advice.

Re: Vegan
Hi
Yes my brother has been a vegan fir many years but not a healthy one his diet is poor too much sweet stuff and not enough protein . I do give him multi vitamins and a couple of other supplements .
I have been mostly veggie for a couple of years but do eat dairy and eggs .
I think with a vegan diet vitamins especially b12 can be hard to get into the diet and proteins need to be eaten with lots of beans and soy substitutes .
Wether a vegan diet is good or bad for HD I am not sure but a diet with lots of fruit and veg and few processed foods is good for all of us .
We went to friends on Christmas Eve and had nibbles and fizz fir me fuzzy pop for my other half as he doesn't drink and he was violently sick in the night I think because it was over processed etc and not the usual stuff we eat . My constitution must be stronger !
If your HD team if you have one it would be worth speaking to the speech and language therapist .

Re: Vegan
Vegan diet is good for all. It's plant based and it's natural. My only recommendation is that you ease into it How about start with something called a 'green smoothie' and work your way up. This way, you'll be inclined to eat more plant based food in the long run. Hope it helps!
