Default New on this forum

I've known about my wife's HD for the last 17 years.
We are both in our early 50s now. She was tested after her father was found to have the condition.
I've noticed gradual changes in her for the last 8-10 years or so. Some of the mood swings can be very challenging, to say the least.
I love my wife and take each day as it comes.
I hope to gain knowledge from this forum and if I can......help others as well.
Happy New Year to you all

Happy New Year Graeme!

My hubby had HD and I totally buy in to the philosophy of taking each day as it comes.

There's some good info to be gained in here. Not just from carers in your position but posted by people with HD too which puts a useful perspective on things.

Apart from in here, if you haven't already got and read these books I know they were a great source of help and also understanding when I was trying to make sense of stuff and my role as a carer. Sometimes I needed more than just a very large vodka and coke lol.

Jimmy Pollard's Hurry Up and Wait. Available from HDA Book Shop

The Selfish Pig's Guide to Caring. Available through Amazon Other suppliers of the books are available.

Hi
Nice to hear from a new person.

I have been diagnosed with HD since 2015 but have now entered the first stage regarding symptoms. I think I am now a HD white belt.........(karate joke). I find this a very open, frank and friendly forum and am a recent member myself.
