Default Young Adults weekend 2016

The annual weekend for young adults aged 18-35 with HD in the family is on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd April 2016. It will be held at the Holiday Inn, Telford International Centre, St Quentin Gate, Telford TF3 4EH and costs £45 per person, including overnight accommodation and all meals.
The weekend is primarily aimed at young people aged between 18 and 35 who are at risk, tested postive or negative and their partners or supporters. Booking forms are available from the HDA website or you may book by calling Head Office 0151 331 5444.
Speakers this year include Dr Edward Wild and Dr Monica Busse.
This will be the 8th year of this popular weekend, which is a mixture of speakers, small group discussions and social activities, meeting other young people in similar circumstances and sharing ideas and experiences.
If you are interested in this weekend, please book soon to avoid disappointment as it is a popular weekend and has limited places.
Contact Head Office for more information.

hi ,
Will the weekend include talks on PGD, CVS etc.
There seem to be many young adults struggling to find info on these subjects.

Thanks,
Brenda

Yes, there will be a workshop on the options for having children And also testing. I haven't finalised all the topics yet, but will post here when I do.
Best thing if you are interested in coming is to speak to Head Office who can give more details.
If anyone is struggling to find info on this or any other topic, I would strongly reccommend they contact their Specialist HD adviser, contact details are on the web page.

.
Seems a bit weird booking up for a bit of a do when you don't know who the turns are.

This is an opportunity to highlight the importance of Monica Busse’s work in Physiotherapy and Exercise for people with HD. Exercise is not often mentioned in Message Board posts – I wonder why?

…… and here’s the big one:

I understand that Jamie Lake is also giving a talk about what’s going on in Plymouth: A potential therapy at a cellular level for Huntington's disease

Has anyone reported back [officially or otherwise] about this weekend? Not a lot seen or heard or read - except some humorous pics on hda fb ......
