Default PIP assessment

Hi

I am new to the HDA message board. My wife was diagnosed with HD a couple of years ago (age 38) and after a while trying to convince her that we should apply for PIP (and blue badge etc) we sent the form off a few weeks ago and she now has a assessment next week. Her anxiety levels are high anyway and this will obviously make it 100 times worse.
Can anyone advise what sort of questions they will ask, is it very formal?? I'll struggle to reassure my wife that its all ok but would like to know myself what to expect.
Thanks

hubby got his diagnosis 2 years ago and symptomatic last year. he get pip, no assessment as we sent the latest clinck reports that were not very good. have had an esa assessment which is similar and that went well. they ask how you manage cooking, cleaning washing, how you travel etc. they look at info from doctor and specialists as well. good luck

hi thanks for the help. Just to let you know that my wife did get awarded PIP however just been refused blue badge....going to appeal. The form seemed to concentrate on whether she can walk 250 yards or not. Well she can, very slowly and with poor balance. And that seems to be the sole criteria. The fact that she struggles to get out of the car, I have to park so close to the cars on my side so she can get out or leave her somewhere whilst I try and find a parking spot.
