Default 8 years ago, this week...

Eight years ago this week I lost V to HD. She was my loving Wife of 28 years and the Mother of our three Sons.

Eight years, nearly 3000 days of missing V...
I never thought I would still be here after losing V, my world, my whole world.

I've tried lots of diversions to keep my mind occupied. Made new friends, lost old friends, looked up old friends, tried new activities, thrown myself into hobbies, shut myself away from daily life, pursued new directions and re-visited old hobbies and interests. Nothing really helps for long.

Miss you darling.
Nothing will ever be the same...

Thinking of you Brian.

It never really gets any easier does it. Just different.

My job meant I had to use The Oval Station yesterday. I went there by bus and passed the place I took Steve for his dental appts and was a bit choked as I looked out bus window.

Then I got off bus and stood outside The Oval Station and was choked where I remembered the last time I was on that bit of pavement was in 2000 when we took my sister to her first cricket match (we wanted to treat her where she loves cricket and needed to be cheered up as the death of our mum had hit her quite badly).

The initial sadness was overcome by joy that I could remember and still be affected emotionally so strongly by what could be seen by others as something so trivial. A piece of pavement I know me and Steve will have walked on together 17 years ago.

I expect there are lots of similar moments for you Brian (places; things on telly; records on the radio or as you walk into a shop/bar/venue etc). V may not be by your side in the 'normal' sense of carbon but even in just a memory she is there with you and still exists.

Hi Brain

Just wanted to say hello, and thinking of you, you are right nothing will ever be the same, no matter how you try to throw yourself into new life routine, there is a big hole in your heart ❤️.

Take care and very best wishes. Xxxxxxx

Thank you Cupcake, you take care of yourself too.

Sorry to say there are two more stars in the night sky now...
(Not HD related but still very sad)

I have christened my two carp rods after them so H & J are with me at the lake side as well as V looking over me, always.

Brian.
Came in today to say we ( me and Steve as we still come as a pair) were thinking of you and V today.

So sorry to hear that H & J are celestial. Lovely touch, carrying and taking their memory forward.
