Default I'm going through PGD!

My husband is at 50% risk of HD.

We decided as we do not want him to be tested but want children PGD was our answer but using something called exclusion testing.

I find it hard to explain but i'll try..... basically it's going through ivf and testing the embryo but for a "high risk gene" not the actual HD gene as that would tell us that my husband would have it..get it?

We applied in jan 09 and after lots of trips to guys in london and told we are both fertile etc so after a year of back and forth we are to start taking the ivf drugs on 19th jan 2010.

I shall keep you posted as to what happens as it's gonna be interesting.
Wish us luck

Great news and good luck!
We are trying for a baby but going down the CVS route, not everyone's cup of tea I know but will see how we get on and maybe consider PGD if we can't cope with this option if we have to have a termination (I am HD+)
Keep us posted....are you going to conference in Feb?

Hiya how are you? Any luck yet with you guys?

Our 1st cycle was stopped due to me needing stronger dosage so we are now looking to get my hubby tested before we continue.

Where is the conference?

Hi ya,
No baby news yet.....will keep you posted....I'm telling myself that the first pregnancy may not result in a baby so I don't get too disapointed if it tests negative....it's a waiting game!!! X
