Default Telford

Hello This is my first time on the message board so wanted to introduce myself. My name is Peter and I live with my wife Lisa and 2 children Molly (10) and Zak (3). My wife was diagnosed January last year. Bombshell after past traumas we have had. Why us! Nevermind. I have struggled to come to grips with the news and have felt isolated a bit. however I have busied myself with my band to raise money for HD, Last yar we give Linda from Newcastle branch over £5000 which we raised from gigs etc. Made me feel I was worth something while I was low. Just come back from Telford today feeling a lot better and not as alone due to realizing there are so many carers just like me out there. Workshops were really helpful. Glad I found this website so I can share experiences with other carers.

Thank you

Peter Tunnah

Hi Peter

Firstly so glad you have found the board a wonderful bunch of poeple with lots of help advice and a wealth of different experiences.

Didn't get to speak to you at Telford but glad you enjoyed it . It is such a relief when you realise that you are not alone in all of this.

Well done with the fund raising you should be really proud as the accountant said in Telford every little helps ( to steal a ctach phase from a well known supermarket).

As you are in the North East you might be intersted in a fund raising event next year a bike ride along Hadrians Wall ( check the fundraising thread for further info).

Hope you find the board as useful as I have.

Hi Peter, welcome to the board.

Sorry to hear about your wife. My husband has HD so I know how devastating it is to hear this news.

Unfortunately we couldn't make it to Telford, but so glad you enjoyed the conference.

Best wishes
MM

Hiya Peter,

Welcome to the board. Brilliant job on raising so much money last year. How many times have you been to the conference? I was there for the first time this year. Don't think we met but maybe I know your face.
