Default Chocolate and a rare day

Thinking hat on again re awareness and fundraising .

Like Gabby said I have become fluent ish in Twitter and have been getting views and retweets of the video and good feedback from some of those that have picked it up .

However unlike age UK and their clever tie in with John Lewis to raise awareness and funds for HD is clearly going to be more of a challenge .

Two ideas I have had might or might not be worth a try .

First chocolate .

Bags of chocolate coins are on sale in lots of retailers and in tesco there are large chocolate coins for a quid . Would it be worth buying some coins and include a letter with details of the video and even a personal biog of how the coins have landed in our own families . I did send some to some friends who
Have been tweeting etc and they were delighted . We could even emphasise that with HD even the small pleasure of chocolate is often lost due to swallowing problems .

We could send these to local media , our MPs or celebrities who might be sympathetic via their agents ?

The other idea is the rare day idea . In the USA Rare Disease day is being held on a rare day ie Feb 29 as 2016 is a leap year . Sadly it doesn't quite coincide with pancake day but could think of ideas that we could use .

I know we are joining in with the appg on rare diseases and the American organisation have been very supportive of the give a toss campaign .

Anyhow as ever one head ok but lots of heads better ! And as the nights draw in and the weather cools down a thinking bobble hat will at least keep your ears warm .

People do all sorts of things running and cycling type challenges

Organising events like quizzes or raffles

Cake sales

I guess finding either something you like or a challenge you want to set .

Best wishes am sure others will be along with ideas x

Hi Sammie

The HDA has a fundraising page on this site with lots of up and coming events, climbimg mountains, running, cycling etc etc perhaps you could get some ideas from that.
This year we had "pie in the face challenge", cake that HD and various other things. If you had access to facebook it might help you as there are lots of HD related facebook pages
